Product Description

Bariatric Advantage Chewable Calcium Citrate tablets are specially formulated for bariatric patients, utilizing 500 mg calcium from only calcium citrate and delivering 500 IU of vitamin D3 to support calcium absorption. Available in delicious flavors like Dark Cherry, Chocolate, and Cinnamon. Sugar-free.

  • Calcium citrate is more bioavailable than some other forms of calcium, and is recommended for bariatric patients.1 It can be taken any time of the day, with or without food while other forms of calcium need to be taken with food for absorption. Additionally, calcium citrate may be more easily absorbed by patients who have had bariatric procedures that result in reduced stomach acids, as it does not require stomach acids for absorption.1 Calcium requires vitamin D3 for absorption.

ASMBS guidelines call for 1,200-1,500 mg calcium per day for patients most bariatric procedure types, with the exception ofBiliopancreatic DiversionDuodenal Switch (BPD-DS) patients, where they call for 1,800-2,400 mg per day.2 Divided doses are recommended with no more than 500 mg being consumed at once.

Calcium is a critical nutrient for bones and teeth–99% of calcium is found in teeth and bones. It also plays an important role in tissue health and nervous system health, along with muscle contraction.*

Consistency change?

I feel like you've changed the formula/consistency of this product - it's much more gritty than it used to be.

Not the same as before

I've been taking Bariatric Advantage chewable multi vitamins and the chewable calcium citrate tabs since my surgery in 2018. The calcium was recently back ordered and I had to wait for the next shipment to come in. When I got my tablets in wild cherry, the taste is not the same. Also the consistency when I chew them is "grainy". I'm unsure if I want to continue to purchase this item.

Gross

These are absolutely disgusting. I would buy the chewy version, skip the chewable tablets. The flavor is terrible and the texture is really gritty.

Bad after taste and doesn't dissolve

I have tried a different flavor earlier and it was better but the wild cherry disappointed me and it doesn't easily dissolve as the previous flavor i tried.

Giant tablets

These chewables are HUGE- nearly the size of a quarter. They are super chalky, but it's expected- it's a bit like a supersized Flinstones vitamin without the nostalgia. Rough going if you have to take 3/day for sure.
